1 dead, 2 injured in crash in Sutter County, CHP says

One man was killed and two others were injured in a car crash early Monday morning south of Yuba City. The California Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of the crash on Highway 99 between Richland and Lincoln roads around 2:07 a.m. Witnesses reported to CHP that the car was swaying severely and unable to maintain its lane. The vehicle made a series of sharp turns, causing it to overturn and crash. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Antioch, was not wearing a seatbelt. He was thrown through the windshield during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP said. The other passengers, Raymond Green, 28, of Yuba City, and a 3-year-old girl, were taken to separate hospitals for minor injuries. A section of Highway 99 was closed for about two hours but has since reopened, CHP said. Drugs are suspected to be the cause of the accident. You can find current information on our live traffic map.
